ASSESSMENT
The Speech and Language assessment process provides us with an opportunity to look at current levels and skills in the area of speech, receptive language, expressive language, and pragmatics (use of language). At AAC Connections we use both standardized measures and naturalistic observations to establish these baselines.
Speech and Language Assessment
-4 hour of combined play-based diagnostics and standardized testing
-1 hour of school observation
-Phone consultations
-Extensive documentation and current service review
-Written report provided 3 weeks following the completion of testing
An AAC assessment is the process of determining the necessary tools, technology, and skills to access augmentative communication devices. The assessment addresses the individual’s functional communication skills, ability to access technology, and trial of multiple means of AAC.
AAC Assessment
-Assessment is conducted over 2-4 weeks
-Written report provided 3 weeks following the completion of testing
-Reports are provided for families, school districts, or insurance funding.
